Summer School in Operations and Supply Chain Management Research


There are a very few research oriented programs offered in India that are specific to the needs of Operations and Supply Chain Management research community. Identifying this need, Society of Operations Management (SOM) and Institute of Management Technology have joined hands to conduct a first ever 2 week summer school program with a focus on research methods and advances in Operations & Supply Chain Management.

Program Overview:

  1. Review and discuss different research methodologies in Operations management across different verticals and functional areas.
  2. State-of-the-art literature review and discussion on current research frontiers in the above areas


At the end of the program, the participants will:

  1. Appreciate different research methodologies in the area of operations & supply chain management
  2. Be exposed to the extant literature relevant to the topics of the program
  3. Be able to carry out independent research in the area of their interest &
  4. Network with researchers in Operations.

Duration & Important dates:

  • The duration of workshop is 12 days starting from 14 May to 25 May 2018
  • Last date for submitting application form is 16th April, 2018
  • Notification for selected candidates will be sent on 23rd April, 2018

Selection Criteria:

  1. Participants will be required to submit a one page description of their current research work and their latest resume along with the application form.
  2. Selection of the participants will be based on the above two documents
  3. Mere submission of application does not guarantee the acceptance into the program

Registration Fee:

Registrations fee for the participants will be:

  • For research scholars – 10,000 INR
  • For Academicians & Industry Practitioners – 25,000 INR

*Fee includes GST, lodging & boarding, city tour, study material etc.
