Hyderabad, 14th February 2019Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad organized a Management Development Program for twenty-six employees working at Apollo Tyres from 21st of January 2019 to 14th of February, 2019. The employees underwent an important and rigorous training of eighty-four sessions to help them understand the evolving customer-client base of Apollo Tyres. Under the guidance of Dr. Apurva Sanaria, the Program Director and IMT faculty- Prof. Manoj Das, Dr. Shabnam Priyadarshini, and Dr. Tulika Sharma as the resource persons, the program was tailor-made for domains on leadership and marketing. The purpose of the program was to turn them into high performing members of the Apollo Sales Force. It gave the necessary skill and confidence to the participants to make an impact as an effective salesperson. To achieve this objective, they were exposed to the various facets of effective communication, understanding team, self and customer service skills.

The customer service skills module introduced them to the critical function of customer service, imparted them skills to understand customers and made them understand the secrets of making their efforts more productive. The module on effective communication fine-tuned their overall persona. It enabled them to deal with challenging and demanding business situations. The sessions on understanding team and self, provided participants the insights into understanding personality and behaviour as well as their interactions with others at a workplace. This helped them to sharpen and grow people management competencies which in turn made them more effective team members.

Like all management programs organized in IMT Hyderabad since 2011, this program too had the enthusiasm, preparation and participation of the candidates that made the program a successful one. The faculty, who are experts in their fields, had spent considerable time in training and coaching these working executives. The preparation involved studying the materials given, analysing the issues and preparing for the presentations. The participants were expected to be participative since IMT Hyderabad follows a participant centred learning approach. This helped them in forming and presenting their thoughts cogently.

The closing ceremony of the Program celebrated its successful attainment of the required objectives and congratulated the employees of Apollo Tyres on having achieved the objectives of the program effectively. The IMT Hyderabad training team wished the employees all the success for their future endeavours at Apollo Tyres.
