Hyderabad, 21st August 2019: Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad conducted a tree plantation drive within the campus considering the manifold benefits of the same by maintaining the ecological balance of the ecosystem. The event was an initiative of Dr. M. Venkateshwarlu, Director - IMT Hyderabad and was organized by PAHEL, the CSR club of IMT Hyderabad.
IMT Hyderabad, a premier B-school not only focuses on classroom learning and professional training but also expands the avenues of student growth by inculcating core values such as social responsibility and social awareness. Currently because of global warming and climate change, it is imperative to improve the quality of our natural environment. The tree plantation drive was organised with the objective of preserving the environment and promoting the idea of a greener and better planet.
The drive was successfully implemented with 300 saplings being planted in the sprawling 30- acre campus around the cricket and football ground, near the hostels and near the academic block. The event witnessed participation in large numbers by students, faculty and staff and the initiative was appreciated and well-received by one and all.
“Initiatives like these enhances the social and ecological value and students should make it their responsibility to conduct these events more frequently”, said Dr. Sriharsha Reddy, Dean (Academics) at IMT Hyderabad, who also participated in the drive. The words of the dean encouraged students and motivated them to realise their responsibility towards the environment and act upon them.
With sustainability and environment preservation being the need of the hour, IMT Hyderabad has paved the way to show that environment conservation through initiatives like tree plantation is not only a necessity but the responsibility of every human being.
