IMT Hyderabad, 19th & 20th August 2024: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, proudly hosted a two-day significant event featuring Micron Technology, Inc., a global leader in memory and storage solutions. This event marked Micron's engagement with the institution through a case challenge and the signing of an MoU, reflecting the company's commitment to fostering innovation and connecting with the next generation of talent.
A distinguished delegation from Micron participated in the event, including key figures like Mr. Abhiram Attada, Senior Manager, Global Procurement COE, and Mr. Rohan Sharma, Process Transformation Manager. The session began with a warm welcome, emphasizing the opportunity for students to learn from industry leaders and engage in meaningful discussions.
The first day began with an introduction to global procurement strategies and the launch of Micron's case challenge. Abhiram Attada shared insights into Micron's vision to revolutionize the market. At the same time, Shivaraj Estaveina highlighted the company's global team of over 600 professionals and its emphasis on artificial intelligence and corporate responsibility. The event also featured an interactive Q&A session, where students engaged directly with the delegation.
The second day commenced with the Micron Case Challenge Presentations, where students showcased their problem-solving skills and creativity. Post-lunch, the event proceeded with opening remarks from Mr. Prakash Pathak, Head of Corporate Relations Office (CRO), and Prof. Vinay Kalakbandi, PGP Chairperson. They provided insightful perspectives to the participants and discussed the institute's ongoing partnership with Micron, emphasizing how this collaboration has empowered students with extensive knowledge and insights into the business world. They also highlighted how the case study competition has enriched students with skills in technology deployment and human resources.
The event also featured the announcement of the winners of the Micron Case Study Challenge. The participants were recognized for their exemplary efforts, with Team 7, comprising Darshan Dwarkadas Sangani, Tanushree Mundra, Riya Patel, and Hritik Yadav, securing the runner-up position for their robust research and strategic thinking. Team 5, which included Ratan Mishra, Manu Singh Chahal, Anand Ramanathan, and Kush Arora, triumphed as the champions by demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and a commendable ability to tackle challenges head-on. They were awarded the first prize for their outstanding performance.
The Micron team expressed their appreciation for the strong corporate-academic partnership with IMT Hyderabad. They praised Mrs. Bhavya Mahendra, Manager of Corporate Relations, and the IMT Hyderabad placement committee (SCOP) for their warm hospitality and conveyed their eagerness for future collaborations and endeavors.
The event concluded with Mr. Prakash Pathak and Mr. Vinay Kalakbandi presenting mementos to the Micron team as a token of appreciation. The participants also shared the frame with the Micron team, cementing the occasion.
