Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad conducted a series of community connect activities as part of the ABHYUDAY management orientation program 2024-26.
On June 22nd, students visited three organizations: BVIC, LEPRA, and Nirmaan. At BVIC, they gained insights into various community-driven initiatives such as the Model Community Program and the Vidya Vikas Program, highlighting the organization's dedication to fostering social entrepreneurship and sustainable businesses. At LEPRA, students learned about efforts to reduce the prevalence of leprosy and other neglected diseases, emphasizing the importance of healthcare in improving lives. The Nirmaan team showcased its role in community empowerment through education, skill development, and vocational training programs benefiting marginalized groups like children, women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
On June 29th teams of IMT Hyderabad students visited NATCO Trust, Kanha Shanti Vanam, and Swarna Bharat Trust. At NATCO Trust, Dr. Madan highlighted how corporations can make a difference in the lives of communities through their CSR initiatives. The students visited several initiatives of the NATCO trust including NATCO Zilla Parishad High School, NATCO Anganwadi projects, and community healthcare projects including mobile clinics, which underscored the company’s commitment to community development. The visit to Kanha Shanti Vanam provided a serene experience with meditation and a peaceful walk in Yatra Garden, where students learned about heartfulness practices for overall well-being. At Swarna Bharat Trust, students observed the NGO's extensive facilities and pioneering work in education and healthcare for the underprivileged. The trust operates several skill development programs supported by corporates like Granules India, Cyient, etc.
These visits offered IMT Hyderabad students a unique opportunity to witness first-hand the efforts of several stakeholders in development and appreciate its impact on the community.
