Alumni Connect Session by Mr Amit Gunjan

IMT Hyderabad, 2nd August, 2025: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad had the privilege of welcoming their distinguished alumnus, Mr Amit Gunjan, India Market Lead – Insurance Consulting at Capgemini Invent, for an engaging session on “Bridging the Gap Between MBA and the Corporate World: In Focus – Consulting Jobs, Insurance Industry, and Digital Business Methods.”

Mr Gunjan began the session by fondly recalling his time at IMT Hyderabad, sharing anecdotes from his committee involvement and his responsibilities as a SCOP member for his cohort. He spoke candidly about his post-PGDM journey, frequently finding himself in greenfield projects marked by intense workloads. Despite the challenges, he persevered with a firm belief in the principle of ‘No Pain, No Gain’. He encouraged students to embrace hard work in the early stages of their careers, assuring them that work-life balance naturally follows with time.

Touching upon the importance of global awareness, Mr Gunjan highlighted how a strong understanding of geopolitics can significantly enhance a student’s perspective and appeal to recruiters. He emphasized that staying informed about global affairs enables better decision-making during job searches.

Mr Gunjan also underlined the critical need for continuous learning to remain relevant in a dynamic corporate environment. He advised students to invest in upskilling, pursue certifications, and maintain patience, rather than being preoccupied with short-term ROI. He drew attention to the growing significance of Generative AI and advocated for its integration with human intelligence to drive meaningful outcomes.

As the session progressed, he stressed the importance of sustainability and financial literacy. He urged students to secure appropriate insurance, make informed investment decisions, and explore diverse professional roles. Mr Gunjan also recommended focusing on career opportunities linked to digital transformation, rather than being swayed by glamorous job titles.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students posed thoughtful questions about productivity, the adoption of sustainability models in corporate settings, and Mr Gunjan’s personal experiences as an IMT student. A warm vote of thanks was delivered by Varsha S, Point of Contact, Alumni Relations Committee, IMT Hyderabad, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr Amit Gunjan for his valuable time, insights, and contributions to the IMT community.
