Airtel Hyderabad Marathon

Hyderabad, August 25 th , 2019: Airtel Hyderabad Marathon (AHM) was started in 2011 to spread awareness about running, improving fitness and to motivate people to meet for a focused cause. Institute of Management Technology- Hyderabad, like every year, this year too joined the event and allowed its students to get well equipped with the above-mentioned qualities, which are necessary for a management student to possess. The marathon started from the heart of the city, at Peoples Plaza, and took the runners through the prime areas of Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, the IT corridor and terminated at the Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Gachibowli.

There were hundred participants from IMT Hyderabad, which included eighty-five students and fifteen faculty members. All the participants participated in the 10k run. Participants from various corporate hubs like Deloitte, IndusInd Bank, and EY also participated in the marathon and represented their organizations. Through AHM, the students learn making a blue print about the techniques which can we used for running, implementation of the plan with effective running and achieving their goals by reaching the finish-line in time.

The race started at 7:00 a.m. from HITECH Expo ground in Madhapur. Despite the cloudy weather, gushing enthusiasm and positivity was unleashed by the students of IMT Hyderabad, who ran beside the professional runners. They vindicated the IMT belief - to compete with the best.

“IMT Hyderabad is an institute that doesn’t limit itself by just providing quality education to its budding professionals, but also focuses on health and fitness of its students. We as coordinators are elated to be a part of AHM and be the bridge between the institute and the participants.” Pratyush Kesarvani and Jeevan Saiteja Reddy Silla, the coordinators of AHM, shared their management experiences. The students completed their run much before the stipulated time, showcasing their perseverance and determination. They were awarded with medals and certificates to cherish their achievement.

AHM made the students of IMT Hyderabad realize that if they want to achieve something, they have to put their hardwork in it. The sense of achievement felt by the students of IMT was beyond words. IMT Hyderabad would be eagerly waiting for the AHM edition of the next year to relive this feeling again and learn the aspects of management through the facet of a marathon.
