Has more than twenty years of experience in Engineering and Management. Has more than 13 years in teaching (mostly on Strategic Management) and 9 years in industry (mostly in consulting). Is a PhD. in Business Management from Utkal University, Odisha, India, in the area of Industry Dynamics; an MBA in Strategy from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Utkal University, Odisha, India. Has acquired academic oriented skills through imparting strategy education to MBA and Executive MBA students, management development programs for businesses, and supporting intellectual contributions through cases, articles and reviews. Also involved in imparting education through case studies and business simulation game pedagogy.

Teaches Strategy Formulation and Strategy Implementation (through Marketplace) to 2nd year MBA students. Also teaches Capsim simulation game as advanced elective in Strategic Management. Visiting faculty to newer IIMs on Strategic Alliances and Joint Ventures. Believes on the teaching philosophy that participant based learning is better, which is exemplified by the pedagogies such as case method of learning and comprehensive online business simulation games.

Research Interests lie in Complex Adaptive Systems, Evolution of Industry through Punctuated Equilibrium, Industry Dynamics, Competitive Strategy, Corporate Strategy, and Case Research. Has published more than 25 journal papers, 40 magazine articles and book reviews, a book – Value Chain Revolution and about 20 teaching cases.

Now overall responsible for improvement of overall academics and pedagogy. International academic visits include United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Thailand, Japan and Australia.

  • Chennai, India in 2003-2004: Consulting Firm for Preparation of City Corporate Plan and Capital Improvement Programme for the Municipalities of Thiruchengode, Namakkal, Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu (WB funded). As Consultant: Responsible to build up and finalise the Financial Analysis of the above four municipalities considering the past accounting figures and projecting the capital improvement plan for 5 years based on HR needs. Also responsible in providing and polishing the strategy to consider hard infrastructure projects.

  • Toowoomba, Australia, 1997-1998: Operational Strategy of Toowoomba Foundry for its management looking for a turnaround, at Toowoomba. As Management Research Scholar: Analysed the operational parameters of the Project and studied the market factors that is forcing the foundry to be competitive, essential for the turn-around.
  • Springfield, Australia, 1997: Marketing Strategy for Springfield Real Estate Development Area, a A$350 Million Project for MUR Group of companies. As Management Research Scholar: Analysed the Marketing Plan for the Springfield Project and provided strategic options considering the population potential and scenario of Brisbane and adjoining areas.
  • Brisbane, Australia, 1998: Export Potential study of Mobile Integrated Network Data Access Policing Software for Queensland Transport. As Management Research Scholar: Analysed Industry Scan and Strategic Potential of MINDA software and provided strategic options of the whole project to Queensland Transport Police.
