Placement Report for the Batch 2011-2013

The Placement season at a B-School is a time when students see their efforts translated into opportunities to work with leading corporates across different sectors. This placement season at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT)Hyderabad was one of the most anticipated seasons as it was for its Pioneering Batch.

The final placements for the Class of 2011-13 of the institute were a resounding success:-

  1. 52 companies participated in the process.
  2. Al- Mazro, a Riyadh -based Health and Wellness firm, made the highest offer of INR 14.50 lakhs to two students for Senior Management profiles at international locations.

The participating recruiters were highly appreciative of the students for their sound analytical ability, effective communication skills, and leadership potential, with select recruiters also offering students posting in international locations. Pre-placement offers were made by Denuosource – an analytics company to students who completed their summer internship with them.

The profiles offered to students were in the areas of Finance, Marketing, Consulting, Operations, Information Technology and General Management. Recruiting companies also came from a wide variety of sectors like Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Automobiles, Heavy Industry, Education and Solar Technology. Such a wide offering allowed students to have a pick with respect to profiles and sectors. About 62% of the batch has been placed by the end of the process. The highest salary offered was INR 14.5 lakhs and the average salary for the batch is INR 6.2 lakhs.

Marketing was one of the most sought after domain this season, with 44% of the batch opting for it. Companies like Samsung India, Ashok Leyland, TVS Sons, Ogawa International, Coffee Day Beverages, HT Media, Glenmark, Tata Projects, Ceasefire Industries Limited, Tech Mahindra, offered roles in the areas of Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Relationship Manager, Brand/Product Manager to name a few.

Finance as an area attracted a good mix of companies and interesting roles. Some of the organizations that offered Finance roles were HDFC Limited, FactSet, Yes Bank, KPMG, Magma Fincorp, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Futures First, Mahindra & Mahindra Finance, S & P Capital IQ and SBI Capital offered roles in their Investment Banking, Equity Research, Consumer Banking, Project Advisory and Capital Markets divisions. Yes Bank was the largest recruiter taking four students for their finance roles. Some of the roles that were offered were Equity Analyst, Research Analyst, Credit Analyst and Management Trainee (Planning and Strategy).
